How to Search El Paso County Traffic Court Records

State traffic cases in El Paso County are handled through the Colorado Judicial Branch court record path. Use the Colorado Judicial Branch Docket Search for hearing and docket information, selecting El Paso County, County Court or Both, and a date range plus another search filter. If the search uses a case-number format, traffic matters may use case class T. Docket Search does not provide full document downloads, so tickets, dispositions, sentence orders, and registers of action must be requested from the court.

For full state court traffic documents, submit the Colorado Judicial Record/Document Request Form. In the Criminal Matters group, request Ticket, Disposition/Sentence Order, Complaint/Information, Protection Order if applicable, or Register of Action/ROA. 1. Read the citation and identify whether it names El Paso County / Colorado state court, Colorado Springs Municipal Court, Manitou Springs Municipal Court, or another city court.

That state docket path is useful for El Paso County County Court traffic matters, but municipal tickets require the city court or vendor named on the citation.

County Court vs Municipal Traffic Court

El Paso County traffic cases split between state County Court and municipal courts. Colorado County Courts handle traffic infractions, misdemeanor traffic offenses, felony complaints that may later be sent to District Court, protection orders, small claims, and civil cases under $25,000. What El Paso County Traffic Court Records Show

Colorado Springs municipal users should choose the municipal record type and enter the record number. Other municipal tickets should follow the court named on the citation. If a ticket is not appearing online, do not assume it is gone; use the court named on the ticket, the court clerk, or the payment office.
