Why We Built This Site
Colorado gives the public access to many court and public records, but the right custodian depends on the record. El Paso County District Court handles felony, divorce, probate, juvenile, mental health, and civil matters in any amount. County Court handles misdemeanors, traffic infractions, small claims, civil claims under $25,000, protection orders, and some felony complaints. Municipal courts handle city ordinance and municipal traffic cases. The Clerk of Court in Room S101 manages court case copies, while the Clerk and Recorder handles recorded documents and marriage licenses.

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Colorado court, El Paso County office, sheriff's office, municipal court, public defender, prosecutor, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document, recorded document, marriage license, or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific Colorado case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, court division, or office hour listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
